New research suggests that the barbell might be a better tool for getting ripped than the treadmill. Just a few weeks ago, Harvard University concluded a 12-year study of more than 10,000 men. They found that strength training offered more protection against a growing waist circumference than moderate to vigorous aerobic activity did.
Researchers pointe
d out that their findings don’t get you off the hook for doing cardio, but rather that as men age, they need to put in a combination of weight training and cardio in order to keep body fat off of their midsection.
